IRCC reduces Express Entry permanent residence application deadline

As per IRCC Express Entry candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply, or ITA, for Canadian permanent residence after 26th June 2018, will now have only 60 calendar days to submit their complete electronic application.

The previous deadline of 90 days will apply for candidates who received their ITA’s previous to 26 June 2018.

From now onwards the Express Entry candidates, the specified time to submit their complete documentation to their electronic application will be only 60 days instead of 90 days as it was earlier.

In a report published in December 2017 IRCC said In November 2016 it had changed the earlier deadline of 60 days to 90 days in concern of the candidates who felt 60 days were less but before November 2016, 57 percent of candidates submit their profile within 60 days and after the change 90 percent of candidates submitted their profile in 60 days.

The revised deadline of 60 days is for candidates to make sure the importance of preparing the documents in advance, of receiving an ITA. Candidates should prepare their documents in advance to make sure there are no mistakes in their application and should not wait until they receive an ITA.
