Largest Express Entry Draw

The government of Canada held largest Express Entry draw on September 5 issuing 3,900 candidates an ITA with CRS cut-off at 440.

A tie-breaker rule was applied in this draw of date April 29, 2018, at 14:28:34 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score above 440, as well as those candidates with scores of 440 who submitted their profile before this date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this invitation round.

This draw broke the trend of 3,750 ITA’s were being issued by IRCC from June 13 to till now.

The regular speed of these larger draws since June 13 could be helping keep the CRS score at 440 and not letting it go higher. Larger draw sizes and more regular draws can also result in lowering CRS scores.

By now IRCC has issued a total of 58,600 ITAs over 18 draws in 2018, which puts it a little ahead of the 57,751 ITAs that were issued over the first 18 draws of 2017. However, IRCC had issued 63,777 ITAs in 2017 by this same point in September. This leaves IRCC 5,177 ITAs behind last year’s speed.
