National Overseas Scholarship/ Passage Grant 2017: Know how to apply

Students planning to pursue their Master’s or PhD abroad can apply for the National Overseas Scholarship/Passage Grant 2017. 30 per cent of the awards shall be earmarked for women candidates.

 

Students planning to pursue their Master’s or PhD abroad can apply for the National Overseas Scholarship/Passage Grant 2017. The scholarship covers cost of fees etc. and other educational expenses including maintenance, contingency allowance, and travel expenses etc. for various courses in the specified field of study at Master’s and doctorate level only.

Keeping in view the importance of increasing number of women candidates, 30 per cent of the awards shall be earmarked for them.

Scholarship details

Scholarship: National Overseas Scholarship/Passage Grant 2017
Description: 100 scholarships are awarded every year to students who belong to schedule caste, de-notified, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes, landless agricultural labourers and traditional artisans, to pursue higher studies in abroad.
Eligibility: Students with 55 per cent marks or above in Bachelor’s/Master’s, who have family income less than Rs 6 lakhs p.a. and are below 35 years of age.
Application: By post to Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Prizes and rewards: Tuition fee, annual maintenance allowance of USD 15400 and Pound 9900, poll tax, visa fees, medical insurance premium, air passage and local travel.
Last date to apply: March 31
