New Manitoba provincial draw invites 400 skilled workers to apply
The Fifth round of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Draw took place on 13th April 2018.
In this draw a total of 400 Letter of Advice (LAAs) were issued, 316 invitations for candidates under Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream with the lowest score recorded as 534 and 84 letter of advise issued under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative with a score of 703.
The Strategic Recruitment Initiative is a program, where MPNP representatives interview foreign skilled workers abroad and issue LAAs to candidates who are eligible and have made a formal Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Here chances of invitation increase for those candidates who have taken an exploratory visit and cleared an interview with the program official.
The MPNP conducts draw based on the potential candidates submitted EOI; the candidates scoring the highest points are issued LAAs and they can further apply to the federal government for Canadian Permanent Residency visa.
Submitting an EOI is a candidate’s first step to immigration to Manitoba through the MPNP.

MPNP Skilled Workers in Manitoba
Under this sub-category of the MPNP, applications are accepted from qualified foreign workers and international student graduates who are working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent job by their employer in Manitoba. The points are assigned to the candidate once he or she enters the pool of candidates.
MPNP Skilled Workers Overseas
This MPNP sub-category is for qualified skilled workers who may be outside Canada but who can prove a strong connection to the province and its labour market. A points-based system is used to assess candidates according to factors such as age, language proficiency, work experience, education, and adaptability.
